About 2dg.ai
2DG stands for 2D Games. That is the whole idea.
2dg.ai is a small, independently run collection of browser games. Every game on the site is written here from scratch — the code, the rules and the artwork. Nothing is embedded from a third-party game feed, and no assets are borrowed from other games.
Why build them instead of embedding them?
Most free game sites are storefronts for the same shared catalogue, which means the same few hundred titles appear on thousands of domains. Building the games means we can make small, strange ones that would never make it into a catalogue: a duel against a recording of your own last run, an origami puzzle, a runner where you draw the ground.
It also means the games are genuinely lightweight. There is no game engine to download and no loading screen — the largest game on the site is a few kilobytes of JavaScript drawing to a canvas.
What the games do and do not do
- No account, no sign-up, no login.
- No gameplay data leaves your device. Streaks and high scores are stored in your own browser.
- No downloads and no installers.
- Games play on desktop and on touch screens.
Who it is for
Anyone who wants something to think about for a minute or two. The daily puzzles suit a coffee break; the arcade games suit the gap between two other things.
